London has an almost endless list of things to keep you entertained. It doesn’t matter what day of the week it is, there’s always something going on, somewhere to explore, or a fun adventure to be had.
If you want to make the most of a day in the city, £50 is more than enough to have an amazing time. Here are 10 things you can do in the London with £50 or less…The UK is thriving during the summer time and with no current restrictions, hospitality is back in full force.
Head to a museum
You don’t even need to have a penny to your name to visit one of London’s famous museums. From the Tate Modern to the Science Museum, a long list of the capital’s cultural institutions are totally free to enter. If you feel like splashing a bit of cash though, there’s often a world-class exhibition taking place somewhere in the city; tickets usually cost around £10 to £25.

Go down to the pub
There’s nothing quite like heading down the pub with a bunch of mates and getting a round in. And £50 will be enough to get a few rounds of beers in at one of the many cool and cozy drinking holes around the city.
Or you could enjoy a classic meal and a couple of drinks at a British pub. It’s best to go on a Sunday and tuck into a traditional roast dinner. You might even find another member of our UK Hospo Co Family working there!

Picnic in the park
When the sun is out, London’s famous parks become the place to be for everyone and anyone to hang out. Head to your local supermarket, grab yourself some French bread, cheese, crisps, and other tasty snacks and get yourself to your nearest green space. Bonus points for turning up with some cold bottles of cider or a bottle of fizz to share around.
Go to the top of the O2
Catch a glimpse of the city from up high with a climb to the top of the iconic dome of London’s O2. Built to mark the millennium, this building has become a famous modern landmark in the capital and you can experience what it’s like to see the city from 52 metres high on top of the roof.
It can actually be a fairly hair-raising experience. Tickets cost around £40 on weekends but are cheaper during the week.

Hop on the train
London’s train network is vast and goes all the way out to the countryside. A one-day travel card for all zones in London costs £14.10. That means you can travel all the way out to Hampton Court Palace on the border with Surrey, or explore the far reaches of Chesham in Buckinghamshire – and then travel back again.
See a show
From West End shows to a spot of Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre, you can bag yourself a ticket to a live theatre show in London for £50. The West End plays host to famous shows such as The Lion King, Mamma Mia, and Hamilton. If you’re looking for something slightly cheaper, you can actually book tickets to select shows for as little as £10.

Have a laugh
If the theatre isn’t for you, then why not take yourself out to a comedy set? Britain’s live comedy scene is thriving with an array of fresh comedy and old favourites regularly touring around the nation.
London always hosts comedians during their tour, but you could head to a comedy night at a club near you. Tickets are usually upwards of £10.
Go for afternoon tea
The classic British pastime of having an afternoon cuppa and a slice of something sweet becomes totally elevated at London’s high-end hotels. You can book yourself in for a fancy afternoon tea at one of these luxury hangouts and spend a few hours devouring tiny sandwiches and cute cakes. Options include Harrods, Claridge’s and, of course, the Ritz.
Browse the city’s markets
London’s buzzing market scene offers up some fantastic shopping opportunities. From the colourful Columbia Road Flower Market on a Sunday to the vibrant fashion of Brick Lane market, there’s something for everyone.
Foodies should make their way over to Borough Market to taste some of the capital’s delicious dishes, but there’s also the famous Notting Hill Market and the quirky-cool of Camden Market to discover.
Take a trip on the Thames
London is a city defined by its river and so there’s no better way to understand what makes the capital tick than to take a trip down the Thames.
There’s a range of different boating options for you to choose from depending on what kind of day out you’re looking for. Kayaks and canoes can be hired for around £15 for a few hours, there are tourist-oriented guide boats that show you the sights of the city for £20, or you could book yourself on an evening cruise on the Thames to see the city lit up at night.
